New Artist Discovery!

Today I went for a jog with my friend Cassy.  How and why I've been running is an entirely different story that I may have to blog about sometime.  So anyway, after our run I stopped by her house so she could show me her latest thrift store find (some adorable vintage trays!) and while there I spied a copy of Ready Made magazine on her table and asked if I could borrow it.  She being ever so generous allowed me to take it home.  Cassy really is one of the most giving people I know - just sayin!:)
Later on I began leafing through the mag. and stumbled upon an illustration I thought was cute.  I went on to read a little blip about the artist - Nan Lawson.  Turns out she's an illustrator, photographer, AND blogger - so basically one of those insanely talented types who make me feel insecure.  But what I really love is that she does custom portraits for people.  All you do is send in a photo and she sends back her awesome version.  How creative! 



I noticed that several of her illustrations have ocean themes.......



And these I just love.....
