I went to see Les Mis over the weekend and now I can't get this song out of my head. It's stuck there. I go to bed singing it, I wake up signing it, it circles in my brain throughout the day.
I was skeptical going in to see this movie. I didn't think I would cry, particularly at any scene Anne Hathaway was in.
I am officially eating my words. Her rendition of this song was amazing. She sucked me into the story and I firmly stayed put there for almost 3 hours, shedding tears off and on but mostly during the scenes Miss Hathaway starred in. Shoot.
So just as the message of Les Mis is grace, a new chance, a clean slate - I hereby declare I don't hate Anne anymore. In fact I think she should probably get best actress.
Just listen....
And even though I wasn't "quite" as emotional as this lady after seeing the movie, it's possible my dad was. I just wish I would have been there to see it!
I've been humming that song off and on since I saw it too!!! Hahaha your Dad couldn't even talk.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I was humming it this morning and Curt was laughing at me. I told him it was frustrating to have all this music in my head but not know the words! I want to SING IT OUT, but can only hum!
ReplyDeleteWould go see it again, so good!
...eh, I've seen better.
ReplyDeleteSusie: there's actually a video on youtube with all the words!!!! So you can SING ALONG!! :) And yes, I want to see it again too - but apparently it won't be with Mr. Veen.;)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it. But it was too long for me to want to sit through again. Though I will pick up the soundtrack.
