A.  AGE ~ 37  I can't really believe this is true and will probably continue to live in denial of the fact until I turn another number.
B.  BED SIZE ~ California King because Mr. Veen is so dang tall and his feet hang of the end of the bed otherwise.
C.  CHORE YOU HATE ~ Laundry, laundry, laundry!  It's never done.  Ever.  The end.
D.  DOGS ~ Henry.  That's all.
E.  ESSENTIAL START TO YOUR DAY ~ Coffee and the Computer.  I will set my alarm extra early so I can enjoy these two things before I start my day.

H.  HEIGHT ~ 5'6" and I stand by that - although last time I was measured at the Dr. they knocked me 1/2" and I was grouchy for the rest of the day. 
I.  INSTRUMENTS YOU PLAY ~ I suppose I can sweat out something on the piano given enough time and patience, however I wouldn't go so far as to say I actually "play" it.

K.  KIDS ~  Yes!  Jake = 10/  Ella = 8
L.  LIVE ~ Salem Oregon.  The "drain" of Oregon but I like it here.

N.  NICKNAMES ~  Hmmm - do I currently have any?  A friend in high school called me" roo".  My nickname for our neighborhood racewalk is " van der Vino"....fitting.
O.  OVERNIGHT HOSPITAL STAYS ~  see here.  Also giving birth to Thing 1 and Thing 2.
P.  PET PEEVES ~  Oh, there are so many!  PTA, Unsolicited Advice, Grocery Shopping, Butt And Boob Cleavage, Male Chauvinists, just to name a few!

Change is good!

With summer drawing to a close there are some significant changes in the forecast.  I love this little place to share my thoughts, photos and ideas but I anticipate that I won't have as much time to devote to it in the near future. 

That said  - I still hope to pop in a few times a week and share what's on my mind.  I'd love if you continue to join me from time to time.  I always appreciate your thoughts and comments!

Here's hoping that as a new season begins happy changes come your way....



A potpourri of fun!

One of Tom's co-worker's made this for us and I thought it was too funny not to share!  We're good as Sonny and Cher - no?

So here's the real scoop on today's potpourri post.  My original plan was to reveal my dramatic (exaggeration) bedroom makeover to everyone today.  But by last night I wasn't exactly done with it - aka - I wasn't even close to being remotely done!  I still had a large diy project to complete to finish the bedroom look that I was after.  This diy project although seemingly *simple* turned out not so simple and resulted in me throwing around piles of coffee filters, thread and tape.  Turns out those window displays you see at Anthropologie actually are hard for the typical non-crafter - who knew?!  Because I am determined (crazy!) with this project I still plan to reveal the final bedroom look to you soon, but in the mean time I couldn't help but think of my friend Amy Sedaris as I struggled to be crafty.




And now I think I must go out and buy Amy's book "Simple Times:  Crafts for Poor People" because even though I don't have her awesome fake nails she really is a kindred spirit!
